MINOT, N.D – The Minot State women's soccer team dropped their first round match of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament to University of Mary on Wednesday night, falling 1-0.
Minot State capped their 2017 season with an overall record of 12-5-2 and a 11-3-1 mark in the NSIC while the Marauders improved to 12-4-2 (9-4-2 NSIC).
UMary's Jade Smith broke the scoreless tie in the 41
st minute off the assist from Caylin Cathey.
Minot State registered a 6-4 advantage in shots and 5-1 lead in corner kicks.
Kelli Creese and
Haley Berryman led the Beavers with two shots while
Ashley Franco and
Andrea Franco added one shot apiece.
Goalkeeper
Erin Rafferty notched one save in the loss.
Tonight's match marked the sixth straight season of Minot State qualifying for the NSIC Tournament and the sixth season all-time that the Beavers have reached the 10-win plateau.
