ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Minot State University wrestling team lost 24-18 to the 19th ranked Northern State Wolves on Friday evening in its final dual of the 2016-17 season.
The Beavers won four individual matches including a pin earned by Cody Haugen (141). Haugen pinned his opponent in just 79 seconds. Keegan Berry (184) and Liam Hayden (133) each won by decision while Michael Rangel collected a win by forfeit.
Haugen leads all Minot State wrestlers with seven wins by fall this season while Berry leads all freshmen on the team with 12 wins. Haugen and Berry are two of five Beavers to win 10 or more matches this season.
MSU went 4-16 this season to match the four wins earned last season in head coach Evan Forde's first season.
Minot State will compete in the NCAA Region III Championships in Moorhead, Minn. on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.
