MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State volleyball teams plays host to a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes this weekend. The Beavers will host Upper Iowa at the Minot State Dome on Friday night at 5:30 p.m. before hosting No. 13 Winona State on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Sophomore
Shelby Spuller leads the Minot State offense with 3.78 kills per set, ranking sixth in the NSIC.
Spuller is followed by a balanced attack from
Emily Falldorf,
Jeanne Brenner and
Brileigh Boyce. Falldorf is posting 1.87 kills per set while Brenner and Boyce are recording 1.85 and 1.73 kills per set, respectively.
Junior
Kelsey Dewulf paces the Minot State offense with 9.22 assists per set, ranking eighth in the NSIC.
Falldorf has notched a team-high 37 blocks this season, followed by
Hayley Swain's 34 blocks.
Karli Koza and
Mekayla Gurley lead the defense with 223 and 120 digs apiece.

Scouting the Upper Iowa Peacocks
Upper Iowa enters the weekend with a 11-3 (2-3 NSIC) record this season and received votes in the AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll this week. Anna Winter leads the Peacocks with 3.36 kills per set, followed by Haley Weepie's 2.89 kills per set. Bethany Lovhaug ranks sixth in the NSIC with 1.02 blocks per set.
Head coach Aaron Nelson is in his seventh season at the helm of the Peacock program and holds a career record of 89-100.
Upper Iowa leads the all-time series with Minot State, 5-1. The Peacocks defeated the Beavers 3-1 in their last meeting on Oct. 28, 2016 in Fayette, Iowa.
Scouting the Winona State Warriors
Winona State comes into the weekend with a No. 13 ranking in the AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll and a record of 9-4 (3-2 NSIC). Danielle Rampart and Maria Wrage carry the Warrior offense with 3.70 and 2.76 kills per set, respectively. McKenna Larson ranks fifth in the NSIC with 11.09 assists per set.
Head coach Joe Getzin is in his fourth season at Winona State. Getzin carries at record of 75-28 leading the Warriors and a career record of 269-287 over his 20 years of coaching.
The Warriors lead the all-time series with the Beavers, 5-1. In their last meeting, Winona State swept Minot State 3-0 on Oct. 29, 2016 in Winona, Minn.
