MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State volleyball team will take a break from the rigors of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference when it faces Dickinson State in a non-conference match on Tuesday (Oct. 16) at 7 p.m. in Scott Gymnasium.
The Beavers, who are 10-13 overall and 4-10 in the NSIC, will be looking to bring an end to a two-match losing streak when they visit the Blue Hawks.
Minot State defeated Dickinson State 27-25, 25-13, 25-16 on Sept. 18 in the Minot State Dome. The Beavers, who hit a season-best .364 in the match, were led by junior
Shelby Spuller who recorded 14 kills and posted a .444 attack percentage.
The Beavers also got nine kills from
Emily Falldorf and
Jeanne Brenner, while
Katie Dufner had five kills and
Hayley Swain finished with four kills. Senior setter
Kelsey Dewulf directed the Minot State offense and she finished with 35 assists, six digs and two kills.
Sophomore
Karli Koza had 21 digs to lead the Beavers defense, while
Shae Pedersen finished with seven digs.
Alyssa Wisher paced the Dickinson State offense as she had 10 kills and Kadara Marshall added eight kills for the Blue Hawks.
Spuller leads Minot State with 313 kills and is averaging 3.82 per set, while Brenner and Falldorf are averaging 2.06 kills per set. Koza has 402 digs on the season and is averaging 4.90 per set, while Dewulf is averaging 9.98 assists per set.
Minot State will resume NSIC play this weekend on the road as the Beavers will face Augustana on Friday (Oct. 19) and Wayne State on Saturday (Oct. 20)
