MINOT, N.D. -- Junior Shelby Spuller recorded 22 kills and had a .436 hitting percentage and Minot State defeated Minnesota Crookston 25-22, 25-18, 25-15 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Saturday in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Shelby Spuller had nine kills and Katie Dufner had three kills as Minot State pulled away late for a 25-22 win in the opening set
• Shelby Spuller had seven kills and Karli Koza notched 10 digs as the Beavers won the second set 25-18
• Minot State hit .355 in the third set and got six kills from Shelby Spuller and three kills from Emily Falldorf in posting a 25-15 win

BEAVER TRACKS

• Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with 22 kills, which marked the third time this season she has topped 20 kills in a match
• Shelby Spuller had a .436 attack percentage with 22 kills and only five errors in 39 attempts
• Hayley Swain had six kills and two digs
• Katie Dufner, Emily Falldorf and Jeanne Brenner each had five kills for the Beavers
• Karli Koza led Minot State with a match-high 22 digs
• Shae Pedersen also reached double figures in digs with 10
• Mekayla Gurley had nine digs, a service ace and two assists
• Kelsey Dewulf finished with 37 assists and eight digs
• Cody Shwaluk recorded three digs on the afternoon
