MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State-Minnesota Crookston softball doubleheader originally scheduled for Crookston, Minn., has been moved to the Air-Supported Dome at Herb Parker Stadium due to weather conditions. The games will be played on Tuesday (April 3) beginning at 2 p.m.
Minot State, which is currently 15-12 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, has played six consecutive home games and 17 overall on the season. The Beavers opened NSIC play last week against Mary, Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State and won two of the six games played.
Senior
Tori Zimmermann posted a .476 batting average in the six games played last week and drove in six runs. She also had three doubles, a homer and scored four runs for the Beavers.
Isis Cabral hit .417 and drove in five runs, while
Kyla Larson hit .412 and scored five runs as Minot State opened conference play.
On the season, Zimmermann leads the Beavers with a .474 batting average and 26 RBIs. She also leads the team with 12 doubles, a .722 slugging percentage and is tied for the team lead with four homers.
Julia Suchan ranks second on the team with a .419 batting average and tops the team with 26 runs scored. She also leads the Beavers with a .494 on-base percentage and is tied for second on the team with three triples.
Cabral is hitting .400 on the year and is tied for second on the team with 23 RBIs, while Larson is batting at a .381 clip and is tied for second on the team with 23 RBIs.
Kylie Patrick is third in the NSICÂ with nine wins, while
Laura Mendez has six wins in the circle for the Beavers.
Minot State already owns a pair of victories over Minnesota Crookston as the Golden Eagles participated in a tournament hosted by the Beavers earlier this season. Minot State beat Minnesota Crookston 6-4 and 5-2 in the Air-Supported Dome.
Minnesota Crookston enters the doubleheader with a 5-21 overall record and a 1-3 mark in the NSIC. Jenna Boardman leads the Golden Eagles with a .397 batting average, while Mikaela Rodriguez leads the team with 15 RBIs.
