MINOT, N.D. -- Kiante Goudeau intercepted two passes and also recovered a fumble, but Minnesota Duluth spoiled Minot State's season opener with a 49-3 victory over the Beavers on Thursday at Herb Parker Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Minnesota Duluth jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter by scoring on its first two drives of the game
• Minot State turned a Goudeau interception into its only points of the game in the first quarter when JoseLuis Moreno connected on a 19-yard field goal
• Minnesota Duluth tacked on 15 points in the second quarter to extend the lead to 35-3 at halftime
• The Bulldogs closed out the scoring with a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter
• Neither team scored in the final quarter

BEAVER TRACKS

• Kiante Goudeau intercepted two passes, which marked the second time in his career he has recorded multiple interceptions
• Kiante Goudeau also recovered a fumble in the first quarter
• Ben Bolinske led the Beavers with 70 yards rushing, including a 36-yard scamper
• Andy Jones was 6-of-12 for 20 yards and Ben Bolinske was 3-of-6 for 29 yards
• Lavante Bushnell, Demond Short, Lofton Klabunde and Lane Torgerson each collected two receptions
• JoseLuis Moreno averaged 46.2 yards on nine punts
• Jemal Williams and Chris Rivers each had seven tackles to lead Minot State
