MINOT, N.D. -- The Beavers are looking to continue their two-game win streak into this weekend with Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games against Augustana University and Wayne State College. The Beavers take on the Vikings on Friday, Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m. and face the Wildcats on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
Minot State, which is 9-11 overall and 4-10 in conference play is coming off an NSIC weekend sweep, beating Bemidji State University 86-74 in a second overtime and Minnesota Crookston 80-69.
Last weekend, Madison Wald secured her 1,000th career point on a free throw versus Minnesota Crookston; she joins senior Kari Clements in the 1,000th career point club.
In the game against Bemidji State, the Beavers had four women scoring in double figures, Mariah Payne (18), Madison Wald (15), Kari Clements (12) and Whitney Molina (10). Whitney Molina also recorded her first career double-double on the night with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Against Minnesota Crookston Madison Wald & Mariah Payne led the Beavers with 22 points each and taking in a collective 10 rebounds. Minot looks to continue the momentum from the weekend into the matchups on Friday and Saturday.
Augustana University is 10-4 in NSIC and has a 18-5 overall record. Wayne State College is 13-7 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
