For Minot State, freshman outside hitter Caitlyn Messner saw her first action on the court of her college career and had her first career kill. Minot State went on a late 5-0 run at the end of the set constructed by senior Shelby Spuller with two kills, but that was not enough to close the gap as Bemidji State won the first set 25-19. Â
