(Aberdeen, S.D.) -- Minot State traveled to Aberdeen, S.D. and lost to #7 Northern State in straight sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-12.
At the beginning of the first set, Northern State started aggressively and had the lead 6-1. The Wolves continued to play well, going on a 4-0 run to expand their lead 10-2. The Beavers would then begin to make runs of their own, but Northern State would continue to answer back. The Wolves took the first set 25-13.
In the second, the competition picked up for a moment as Minot State was ahead 7-5. Two kills from junior Kayla Verity and a service ace from senior Emily Falldorf helped the Bevers get to this point. The Wolves went on a 3-0 run to increase the lead to five. As the set continued, Northern State continued to build the lead. With the Wolves leading 15-9, they would embark on a 7-0 run and went on to win the second set 25-12.
In the third set, Northern State continued the momentum and went on a 6-1 run. Every time the Beavers scored, the Wolves would turn around and would go on a series of their own. The Wolves closed out the third set by going on a 4-0 run, winning the set 25-12, and ending the match 3-0.

Minot State will travel back to Minot, N.D., to play their last two home matches of the season. On Nov. 8, they will play Wayne State beginning at 6:00 p.m. on senior night. The next day on Nov. 9, they take on Augustana University at 2:00 p.m.
