MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State softball team collected a pair of victories (6-5, 9-4) over Concordia-St. Paul in NSIC play on Saturday afternoon at South Hill Complex in Minot, N.D.
The Beavers improve to 14-7 overall on the season and 3-1 in NSIC contests while the Golden Bears drop to 15-9 (2-2 NSIC).
Game One: Minot State 6, Concordia-St. Paul 5
How It Happened
- Karlee Coughlin smacked a two-RBI double to right center, scoring Lauren Cowden and Maggie Mercer to give Minot State a 2-0 lead after the first inning.
- The Golden Bears responded in the top of the second with four runs, including a two-run home run to grab a 4-2 advantage.
- The Beavers tied the game at four in the bottom of the second inning on RBI singles by Kiera Shwaluk and Coughlin.
- CSP took its final lead of the game in the fourth inning, scoring one run on a trio of hits.
- Zoya Robbins reached on a triple in the fifth inning before tying the game at five on an RBI single by Hernandez.
- Minot State scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning when Mercer touched home on an RBI single by Coughlin.

- The Golden Bears notched a run in the third before adding a two-run homer in the fourth to cut the Beaver lead to 4-3.
- Julia Suchan dribbled an RBI single through the right side to score Cowden in the fourth and Coughlin's sacrifice fly in the sixth allowed Mercer and Cowden to touch home.
- A pair of RBI singles from Gonzalez and Hernandez stretched Minot State's lead to 9-3 in the sixth.
- CSP added one last run in the seventh to trim the Minot State lead to 9-4.
