(HONOLULU, HI.) -- With the 2019 season opener officially in the books, Minot State came up short against a talented University of California State, Chico at the Hawaii Challenge located in Honolulu, HI on Sept. 6.

Mackenzie Froehlich producing a career-high of 40 assists against the Wildcats. Senior middle hitter
Emily Falldorf accumulated 10 kills and eight blocks for the Beavers. Freshman outside hitter
Amarrie Welton debuted in her first collegiate game playing in all five sets with six kills, six blocks, and five digs. The Beavers pushed the match into five sets after initially losing the first two 24 - 26 and 21 - 25. After winning sets three (27-25) and four (25-19), the Beavers fell in set five (11-15) against the Wildcats.
UP NEXT
Minot State returns to action tonight and tomorrow to continue tournament play. The Beavers face University of Hawaii tonight (Sept. 6) at 10 p.m. and then end the tournament off with a match against the tournament host Chaminade University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 7)
