(MIAMI, Ohio) -- Beaver women's hockey was able to make it a clean sweep in a tight three-game road trip after defeating Miami (OH) 2-0 and extending their winning streak to 11 games.
 
This one was not as high scoring as the previous night, but the Beavers played great defense and were able to get a shut out from their goalie Jordan Ivanco to come back home expecting to move up in the rankings.
 
There was not much to speak of in the first period and a half in the game this afternoon, but the Beavers were able to finally find the back net with 5:50 remaining in the second period when Megan Ferg scored a goal to take a 1-0 lead. The assist went to Sami Jo Henry on the goal.
 
The third period was also relatively quiet until the Beavers' Haley Wickham expanded the lead to 2-0 with 7:39 to play in the contest. That would be all the Beavers would need as Ivanco would hold on to the shutout, making 20 saves in the game and helping to lead the Beavers to a 2-0 win.
 
The Beavers are back at home at Maysa arena next weekend when they take on the University of Minnesota in a pair of contests Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m., and Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
