(MINOT, N.D.) – The Beaver softball team will be back in the Air-Supported Dome for another invitational weekend.

Minot State (6-6) will host NAIA foes Mayville State, Dickinson State, Providence (Mont.), and Valley City State.

So far this season, Minot has split their twelve games. Both the offense and defense has seen highs and lows. Freshman Lauryn DeGuzman has led the Beavers' approach at the plate with a .476 batting average including 20 hits, 12 runs, and six extra-base hits. Senior outfielder Isis Cabral has also had an excellent season with a .405 average with eight RBI, 15 hits, and 12 runs scored. The Beavers have three other batters hitting upwards of .300 including Julia Suchan (.341), Jamie Odlum (.326), and Kiera Shwaluk (.326).

Minot State's pitching has been more inconsistent than their offensive attack. Karlee Coughlin has been the most used hurler for the Beavers with just over 30 innings to her credit. Coughlin has given up 29 hits while striking out 17 and walking 11. MSU's ace, Zoya Robbins, missed the last weekend of competition but will bring her dominating arm back to the circle for the next Dome invite. Robbins has thrown the only complete game thus far for Minot State. Roxanne Ines has also been key for the Beavs' pitching staff with the lowest earned run average on the club (2.50).

Of the five teams in attendance thisweekend, Minot State has played the highest amount of games and holds the best record. Other North Dakota teams Dickinson State, Mayville State, and Valley City State currently sit at 3-5, 1-3, and 2-6, respectively. The fifth team, the University of Providence, brings in a record of 1-3 as well.

Competition will begin with two games on Friday evening followed by a full day of softball on Saturday, and three more games on Sunday. The full schedule can be seen below.
