(MINOT, N.D.) – The Minot State softball team finished won both games in the second day of their third dome invite to sweep the four-game weekend series.
Behind a blowout performance in the morning and a comeback victory to end the day, the Beavers finished off Providence of Montana and Valley City State 14-2 and 8-6, respectively.
Game 3 | Minot State 14, Providence (Mont.) 2
Senior
Isis Cabral collected four RBIs to help lead the Minot State Beavers past the Providence (Mont.) Argonauts 14-2 on Saturday.
Sophomore
Zoya Robbins (6-2) started in the circle and picked up the win for Minot State (1-4). The right-hander went three innings, giving up one run on one hit, allowing two walks and striking out one. Senior
Karlee Coughlin also made an impact in the circle for the Beavers, starting the ballgame and throwing one shutout inning while allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
Cabral went 3-for-4 with a double in addition to her four RBIs for the Beavers. Sophomore
Jamie Odlum put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Sophomore
Maggie Mercer also helped out for Minot State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a triple and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring in the first inning. Minot State scored twice, with one run coming across on Odlum's single.
The Beavers then lost some of their lead, expanding on their advantage in the second inning after the Argos cut it to 2-1. The Minot State offense exploded for six runs, highlighted by a two-run triple off the bat of Odlum and a two-run double from Cabral, which brought the score to 8-1 in favor of the Beavers.
Minot State kept Providence without a run before building their lead to 14-1 in the fourth inning. The Beavers bats heated up in the inning, scoring six runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Cabral. Providence put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Minot State still coasted to the 14-2 win.

The Minot State Beavers broke through after a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning to take down the Valley City State Vikings 8-6 Saturday.
Senior
Karlee Coughlin (4-3) got the win for Minot State (10-6). The right-hander went 3.1 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on five hits, allowing no walks and striking out two.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by freshman
Kilee Fehd, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and two RBIs. Sophomore
Maggie Mercer put together a standout performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Coughlin also contributed for Minot State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.

The Beavers were trailing 3-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Minot State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run double off the bat of Mercer.
After the Vikings rallied to tie the ballgame at four, the Beavers came back to re-take the lead in the sixth inning. The Minot State offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Fehd, which brought the score to 8-4 in favor of the Beavers. Valley City State put two runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Minot State still held on for the 8-6 win.
