Beavers not enough for #8 Winona State

WINONA, MN --The Minot State volleyball team fell to the Winona State Warriors 3-0 (8-25, 18-25, 21-25) Friday on the road at McCown Gymnasium.
 

Kylie Koontz finished with five kills on the day to lead the Beavers offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .385. MISU got 6 digs from Tea Boeckel to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Beavers found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-8. Minot State trailed by as many as 17 points as Winona State never gave up the lead in a set that was notted up two times before the Warriors took control.

SET 2 | Minot State then dropped set two 25-18 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Minot State trailed by as many as eight points as Winona State grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up just once before the Warriors took over the lead.

SET 3 | Minot State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Beavers came up short by the score of 25-21. Winona State grabbed the advantage for good at 20-19 in a set that was tied up 10 times before the Warriors took over in the second half of the stanza.
