ST. CLOUD, MN --Melvin Newbern registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, but the Minot State men's basketball team fell to the Saint Cloud State Huskies 82-67 on the road Saturday.
In addition to Newbern's double-double, the Beavers (8-3, 2-3) were led by Camron Dunfee, who totaled 13 points, and by Max Cody, who tacked on 10 points.
How It Happened
After jumping out to a 10-8 advantage, Minot State went on a 7-0 run with 14:47 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Cody, to increase its lead to 17-8. The Beavers then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 36-35 advantage. Minot State relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down seven shots to account for 21 of its 36 points.
Saint Cloud State then erased the Minot State lead in the game's final quarter for an 82-67 comeback victory. Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 28 of its 31 points in the lane.
