MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University Wrestling travels to Minnesota State Moorhead for its second consecutive road dual on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.
The Beavers are fresh off a tough loss against rivals UMary on the road. Despite the loss, Minot State has a lot to build upon with
Oscar Nellis,
Kelby Armstrong, and
Lincoln Stormer getting big wins to add to their college careers. Armstrong was in discussion for NSIC Wrestler of the Week after his upset win over Laken Boese.
At one point during the rivalry dual, Minot State trailed 12-0 but a 20-3 rally by the Beavers put them in front 20-15 going into the final few matches.
Jordan Will along with
Keegan Berry continues to be consistent performers for the Beavers in the lineup as they both earned wins by decision. Berry moved to 4-0 on the season and Will improved to 3-1 respectively.
Minnesota State Moorhead has had two consecutive duals canceled and has not seen live action since Jan. 14 when they fell to No. 20 Upper Iowa. The Dragons are 0-2 overall on the season after dropping the opening match of the year against Southwest Minnesota State 18-16. This marks the final home regular-season match for MSUM.
