MINOT, N.D.- The Minot State women's hockey team (3-1) will host the McKendree Bearcats (0-2-1) for a conference series this weekend at the Maysa Arena. The puck is set to drop this Saturday Oct. 22nd at 3:45 p.m. before renewing the series Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Bearcats are riding a two game losing streak at the moment after last week falling by a 7-2 score at Lindenwood. Mckendree is being led by Jayna Barnden and Camryn Scully who each have tallied two goals, while four other Bearcats have locked in a single goal for the Bearcats offense. Brianna Burke has been the leading force in net for MU playing in all three games allowing 16 goals while making 52 saves for a 5.07 goals against average and a 0.765 save percentage.
The Beavers are coming off a weekend sweep over the Jamestown Jimmies by a 4-3 overtime score on the road and a 5-3 score at home.
Riley Ball is the leading scorer for MSU gaining three goals on the year, followed closely by
Anna German and
Sydney Spicer each with two apiece. The Beavers have split up goaltender duties amongst
Jordan Ivanco,
Haylie Biever, and
Hali Lawrence. Ivanco has been the go-to playing two games so far this season, allowing five goals on 48 saves for a 2.41 goals against average and 0.906 save percentage. Lawrence has played in one game allowing three goals while making 17 saves for a 2.77 goals against average and 0.850 save percentage, while Biever has also played in only one game allowing four goals making 20 saves for a 4.48 goals against average and a 0.833 save percentage.
Following the home stand against McKendree the Beavers will stay home and face the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Gophers come to town on Saturday Nov. 5th at 3:45 p.m. and then again on Sunday Nov. 6th at 1 p.m.
