BISMARCK, N.D. -- Pitching performances from both Trinity Valentine and Jasmine Blizzard led Minot State to their first conference sweep of the season against the University of Mary Marauders on Monday afternoon. Valentine and Blizzard gave up a combined 10 hits total in the twelve innings the two shared in the circle.Â
Senior Trinity Valentine was dominant in game one, striking out 10 Mary hitters over seven innings of work to help lead the Minot State Beavers over the Marauders 6-2.
In addition to her 10 strikeouts, Valentine (9-3) tossed seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits and walking two for Minot State (20-5, ).
At the plate, the Beavers were paced by sophomore Brooklyn Morrison, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double and three RBIs. Junior Jamie Odlum put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Junior Lenora Watson also chipped in for Minot State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

Blizzard (3-1) went the distance for Minot State (21-5, 2-0 NSIC), giving up five hits, walking one and striking out three.
Junior Jamie Odlum led the way offensively for the Beavers, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with a walk and an RBI. Junior Alina Gonzalez put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Sophomore Brooklyn Morrison also chipped in, going 2-for-4 for Minot State with a double.
