MINOT, N.D.- The Minot State women's volleyball team will take to the road for their first road conference matches. Firstly will be a showdown with the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles (1-9) Friday Sept. 16th at 6 p.m. Followed by the battle of the Beavers against Bemidji State (1-9) Saturday Sept. 16th at 5 p.m.
The Golden Eagles are coming off back to back 1-3 losses to the Northern State Wolves and MSU Moorhead Dragons to open NSIC play last weekend. UMC has notched 371 kills in the first ten matches of the season with freshman Audrey Cariveau leading the way with 88 total kills. The Golden Eagles have made 44 service aces as senior Natalie Koke has had nine so far on the year. Sophomore Layne Whaley has the most digs at 136 while senior Maria Jose Bustos Garcia has the most blocks for UMC with 19 total, nine of them solo.
Bemidji State is looking to bounce back after suffering matching 0-3 losses at the hands of the Dragons and Wolves to open NSIC play. The Beavers have tallied 358 total kills on the season so far as junior Hallie Mertz leads the way with 100. The Beavers have found 42 service aces on the season as Mertz also leads the way with 11 for BSU. On the defensive side of the net junior Lauren Justesen has the most digs for the Beavers with 110, while junior Rylie Bjerklie leads the team with 11 blocks.
Minot State is coming off back to back 3-0 losses to the 14th-ranked Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs and the 6th-ranked St. Cloud State Huskies. Leading the way for the Beavers last weekend was sophomore Alex Koontz with 12 digs who also leads MSU with 61 kills on the season. MSU has racked up 38 service aces as three different Beavers have seven on the young season already. Defensively freshman

Jenna Pahlen.
Following the matchup in northern Minnesota, the Beavers head back to Minot to take on the Winona State Warriors who are receiving votes in the most recent AVCA Division Two Coaches Poll. The Warriors make the trip to Minot on Friday Sept. 23rd with the match set to start at 6 p.m. The Upper Iowa Peacocks will leave the coop to head to Minot on Saturday Sept. 24th with kick off set for 2 p.m. at the MSU Dome.
