Riding high off the momentum of a comeback win for victory No. 1 over Minnesota State, Mankato on Thursday, the Minot State men's wrestling team kept on rolling, this time topping host and 22nd-ranked Southwest Minnesota State, 23-15, on Friday night in an NSIC dual.
Cayden White won by pin in his 184-pound match and
James Davis collected a forfeit victory at 133 pounds, racking up 12 team points in the dual, more than half of Minot State's score.
Oscar Nellis, who has been rolling strong this calendar year improved to 5-1 in NSIC dual action as he added a 13-4 major decision at 125 pounds over Ben Emrich.
Kelby Armstrong, who has lost just once this season, improved to 7-1 overall with another major decision win, 12-2 over Tyler Soltau at 149 pounds.
Cannon Potts added the other victory for the Beavers, a 5-2 decision win at 174 pounds.
Having swept the weekend on the road to improve to 8-8 on the season in dual action and 3-5 in NSIC competition, Minot State now returns home to close out the regular season as they host No. 5 St. Cloud State next Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at the MSU Dome.
