Gustavsson's buzzer-beater leads Minot State over Sioux Falls 62-60

MINOT, N.D. --
Sydney Gustavsson hit a buzzer-beating shot as time expired to lead the Minot State women's basketball team over the Sioux Falls Cougars 62-60 at home Friday in NSIC action to complete a sweep for the Beavers on "Defend the Dome" night.

The Minot State men's basketball team started the night with a 78-60 win over Sioux Falls.

The Beavers (5-13 overall, 2-7 NSIC) had three players score in double figures, led by Emily Srejma, who had 19 points. Gustavsson added 12 points from the bench and Maya Aguilar chipped in as well with 10 points and eight rebounds off of the bench.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game coming in," Gustavsson said. "We wanted to Defend the Dome here today.

"It went in for us, which was really needed at that time when they did have a comeback," Gustavsson added of her game-winner. "But a win is a win and that's what we needed."

The Cougars did not have much luck cleaning up their misses on the offensive glass either, as they finished with six offensive rebounds and managed five second-chance points while Minot State cleared 27 defensive rebounds.
