MINOT, ND --The Minot State volleyball team competed in two matches on Friday September 13. The first match saw the Beavers take on Medicine Hat in an exhibition game. The second match saw the Beavers take on the University of Jamestown. On the day, the Beavers were victorious against Medicine Hat in game one, and dropped game two against the University of Jamestown.

The Beavers took down Medicine Hat in 3 straight sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-19) to win the exhibition match. The offense was led by Taylor Wyatt with 10 kills, and the defense was led by Jaina Macaulay, Kelci Madrid, and Maddy Boop with 5 digs each.  

The Beavers could not out-play a dynamic offense Friday at home losing to in three sets (22-25, 9-25, 21-25).The non-conference loss dropped Minot State to 0-5 on the season.

Paulina Kowalska finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Beavers attack. Got 7 digs from Kelci Madrid to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Beavers found themselves in an early hole, losing the first set 25-22. grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up five times before the took over in the second half of the stanza.

SET 2 | Minot State lost the second set 25-9, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Minot State trailed by as many as 16 points as grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the took over the lead.

SET 3 | finished off the sweep with a set-three victory. The Beavers came up short by the score of 25-21. Minot State trailed by as many as seven points as grabbed the advantage for good at 9-8 in a set that was knotted up seven times before the took over the lead.
