Brandon Bradley was hired as Minot State University's Assistant Football Coach / Defensive Backs in May 2015.
Bradley has ties to NCAA Division I football, starting for two seasons for Brigham Young University at cornerback and also coaching for a season at BYU.
"I love how Brandon communicates with coaches with his players," said Hughes. "I know his players will love being coached by him. In addition, his knowledge of how to defend the pass will be a big lift for us. Today's football is so aggressive through the air and we needed someone to lead our secondary in a confident and complete way. Brandon can certainly do that."
Originally a University of Louisville commit, Bradley – a Rivals.com 2-star recruit – signed with BYU. He had an outstanding career for the Cougars, finishing with 144 tackles and an interception in 35 career games. He had a career-high 64 stops in 2009 as a junior. He has some of his best games in a BYU uniform against some top competition, gathering 11 tackles in a 26-23 win over No. 21 Utah and 10 more tackles against Florida State as a junior.
Bradley spent two seasons at Snow College after graduating from BYU, including the Badgers' 11-1 2012 season where he coached the defensive backs. He helped the defense force 43 turnovers, finishing with more than 20 interceptions and allowing just 13 points per game. He also helped the team to a No. 3 national rank. After a second season at Snow, he moved back to BYU to become a graduate assistant (defensive backs), guiding the Cougars to the Miami Beach Bowl.
He coached three players who moved on to NCAA Division I and one to NCAA DII during his time at Snow and helped Skye PoVey and Craig Bills both earn FBS All-Independent Team honors at BYU.
Bradley is a native of Tallahassee, Fla., and a 2010 graduate of BYU. He served an LDS Church mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese. He is married to Alexis Bradley and they have three children, a daughter Amiah and sons Mekhi and Zaden.
