Breon Allen is in his first season with Minot State University football, joining the coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach. He will work mainly with the Beavers running backs.
Allen begins his career as a coach following a stellar collegiate career at East Carolina University and Snow College.
At East Carolina, Allen started 13 games in two seasons at running back. He ran for 311 yards on 62 carries and three touchdowns as a junior and racked up 869 yards on 134 carries with eight TDs as a senior. His breakout game came against rival North Carolina as he finished with 18 carries for 211 yards and two touchdowns, earning him a ESPN Helmet Sticker in the postgame. He finished with 1,180 rushing yards and a 6.02 per carry average. Along with his rushing totals, he finished with 44 catches for 439 yards and a TD.
Allen is no stranger to coach Tyler Hughes' offense as he was a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) First-team All-American at Snow College in Utah. He helped Snow to an 11-1 record and a No. 3 national ranking with an 11-1 record as a sophomore. He led all of NJCAA, becoming the first Snow College running back to do so, with 1,632 yards and 20 touchdowns. Allen was the Western States Football League Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 and had a 281-yard, three-TD performance against Glendale CC, earning national player of the week honors. He finished as Snow's all-time leading rusher with 2,404 yards.
