Coach Grimes joined the Minot State football staff in the summer of 2023 after spending the past year as an assistant football coach at his alma mater, the University of Saint Mary (Kan.).
Coach Grimes also was the Offensive Coordinator for the Spires' Intercollegiate Women's Flag Football team which competed in the NAIA.
A five-year player at the University of Saint Mary (2017-22), Grimes was the starting quarterback for the Spires for two seasons.Â
He also worked as a volunteer football coach in the Police Activity League, as an AAU boys basketball 16 under coach in the summer of 2021, and worked for Nike Inc.
He received his bachelors in Sports Management and his masters in Business Administration from the University of Saint Mary.
