Kristi Berg was named the Minot State University Faculty Athletic Representative in 2022. Berg steps into the position held by Dean Frantsvog since its inception in 2010.
Berg began her MSU teaching career in 2001. She is currently a full professor of Business Information Technology in the College of Business. She instructs both graduate and undergraduate classes in Information Systems on campus and online. At MSU Berg has served as faculty senate president, chaired and served on many committees, and served as an Alumni Board member for 10 years. Prior to MSU Berg taught at Burdick Job Corps Center, worked as a substitute teacher, and taught at Meyer Vo-Tech.
Berg is an Alumni of Minot State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business education in 1995 and a masters in management with an information systems concentration in 2000. Berg achieved her PhD in Organization and Management with a specialization in Information Systems from Capella University in 2011.
Berg is active in the field of information systems, serving as a consultant for several agencies including the MSU Rural Crime and Justice Center (database analyst), Minot Area Community Foundation (flood recovery), Air National Guard (software trainer), Minot Public Library (soft skills training). She also serves as an editorial reviewer for research journals and textbooks. Berg served as a collaborative editor and chapter author on the book Strategic Data-Based Wisdom in the Big Data Era, IGI Global.
Berg’s research areas of publication and presentation include: mentoring, database, workforce development, software training, virtual business and collaboration. Her professional memberships include the International Association for Computer Information Systems, Society of Information Technology and Teacher Education, and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Society.
