Box Score CROOKSTON, Minn.– The Beavers men's basketball team shot a season-high 57.1 percent from the field as they steam-rolled University of Minnesota Crookston 87-64 Saturday night in Lysaker Gymnasium.
Five Beavers scored in double digits led by
E.J. Williams (Sr., G, Raleigh, N.C.) with 23 points followed by
Dominique McDonald (So., G, Raleigh, N.C.) with 21 points. Williams dished out four assists in the win while McDonald had two rebounds and two assists.
Sam Johnson (Sr., F, Las Vegas, Nev.) scored 11 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Thomas Korf (Jr., G, St. Cloud, Minn.) scored 12 points on four three-point field goals while
Chris East (Sr., F, Toronto, Ontario) notched 13 points while going 5-of-7 from the floor.
Minot State dominated from the beginning as they never trailed in the game and led for 38:18 minutes of the game. MISU also committed just nine turnovers on the night, their second fewest total for the 2013-14 season.
Minnesota Crookston also had five players in double-digit scoring led by Derrick Redd with 12 points, but just 4-of-12 shooting on the night. UMC shot just 36.4 percent from beyond the arc while the Beavers shot a season-high 61.9 percent on three-point shots.
The Beavers will return home for their two final home games of the season as they host University of Sioux Falls on Friday Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. before they take on Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday at 6 p.m. for senior night.
