Beavers Begin NSIC Play at University of Mary

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's soccer team opens NSIC play on Sunday afternoon, as they travel to Bismarck, N.D. to take on University of Mary.

About the Beavers

The Beavers defeated Black Hills State, 6-0, in non-conference play on the road Thursday night.

Freshmen Sofia Lewis and Jordyn Cook lead the Beaver offense with two goals apiece. Junior Sydnee Canales has dished out a team-high two assists.

Scouting University of Mary Marauders

The Marauders enter the 2017 season after posting a 4-10-3 overall record and a 4-9-2 mark in the NSIC.

Junior Caylin Cathey and sophomore Kylee Welch are the leading returners for the Marauders from last season's squad. Cathey scored two goals and recorded one assist while Welch dished out three assists and scored one goal.

Head coach Sarah Cook carries a career record of 27-48-13 as she enters her sixth season leading the Marauder program.

History vs. University of Mary

Minot State leads the all-time series, 3-2-3, after defeating the Marauders last season, 6-1.
