MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State soccer team will open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play against Mary on Tuesday (Sept. 11) at 7 p.m. in Herb Parker Stadium.
The Beavers enter the contest undefeated on the season with a 2-0-1 overall record. Minot State defeated Black Hills State and Oklahoma Baptist and played to a draw against Northwest Nazarene. Mary is 1-1 on the season having defeated Black Hills State and dropping its last match to Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.
Minot State will be seeking a measure of revenge against the Marauders after Mary won both matches last season, including a 1-0 victory in the NSIC Tournament.
Minot State has outscored the opposition 10-1 in its three matches and has outshot opponents by a 34-16 margin.
Sophomore
Sofia Lewis has exploded out of the gate and has four goals, three assists and 11 points on the season. Lewis leads the NSIC in points, points per game, goals, goals per game, assists and assists per game.
Senior
Haley Berryman has tallied three goals and ranks second in the conference in goals per game.
Sydnee Canales and
Cinthya Samaniego each have two assists for the Beavers.
Erin Rafferty has a 0.34 goals against average in net for the Beavers and has two combined shutouts on the year.
Hannah Richter leads Mary with two goals and an assist, while Lisa Swardh, Caylin Cathey and Jade Smith have each scored one goal on the season.
