Reilly O'Rourke bettered his quality start against Wayne State on Wednesday with a one-hitter in eight innings on Monday in a 6-1 victory over Northern State.
The Sydney, Nova Scotia native struck out eight Wolves in the dominant performance to help the Beavers improve to 21-12 overall on the season and 14-6 in NSIC contests.
How It Happened
- Michael Borst reached on an infield single before touching home an RBI double by Darrel Doll to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- NSU recorded its lone hit of the game in the third inning and scored on back-to-back errors by the Beavers to tie the game at one.
- Mason Gifford began the eighth inning with a walk before Borst and Doll reached on back-to-back singles to load the bases.
- Geordie McDougall scored the go-ahead run after pinch running for Gifford on a fielder's choice by Celestino Rodriguez.
- Andrew Black's RBI single and Ryley Humrighouse's walk with the bases loaded stretched the lead to 4-1.
- Minot State extended the lead when Trevaun Smith reached on a throwing error, allowing Dillon Buckmeier and Black to score.
