Scouting the Golden Bears:
The Golden Bears finished the year after their game against the Beavers 2-0-1 sweeping Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State, and then tying Mankato to end their regular season. In their regular season meeting the Beavers and Golden Bears seemed pretty evenly matched as they concluded to a 0-0 tie. CSP outshot MSU 11-10, however the Beavers managed to get six of those shots on goal, while CSP only got four on goal. It was a defensive battle to say the least, as goalkeepers
Maddie Kindred and Ashlyn Waldon each garnered a shutout, and for Waldon it was her first career. It will be another battle of defenses as Kindred just broke the school record for shutouts in a season, as she currently has 10.
The Golden Bears concluded the regular season with 39 goals, while also collecting 310 shots. CSP was able to get 144 of those shots on net for 46.5 percent of their shots making it to the net. The Golden Bears were paced by sophomore Katie Anderson, who finished the regular season with seven goals, 90 shots, and 40 shots on goal. Junior Jena Berkland also collected five goals, while three players all finished with four goals; sophomore Sophie Pawlyshyn, freshman Corynn Grabau, and freshman Abby Kloiber.
The NSIC tournament continues with the semifinals set for Friday Nov. 12th, and the championship set for Sunday Nov. 14th with times and place to be determined off of who the highest seed is after the first-round.
