Beavers look to build off of big nights from Newbern, Dwyer and Cody

The Minot State men's basketball team returns to NSIC play on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 in the MSU Dome against the Northern State University Wolves.

Last time out
The Beavers are coming off of an 86-74 victory over the Valley City State University Vikings on Monday, Nov. 29 in the MSU Dome.

Leading the way
Max Cody, Melvin Newbern and Kody Dwyer led the way for the Beavers in Tuesday's 12-point victory. Max Cody set an NCAA Division ll school record with 14 assists. His 543 career assists leave him seven shy of the all-time school record. Melvin Newbern posted season high numbers in both scoring and rebounding with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Kody Dwyer shot a perfect 10-10 from the field on his way to his season high of 20 points.

Scouting the Wolves
Northern State enters the contest with a record of 6-3, winners of their last two games. The Wolves defeated Midwestern State (TX) 84-70 followed by a dominating 83-47 victory over the Presentation College Saints. Freshmen forward Jacksen Moni led the way for Northern State with 27 points and 10 rebounds.

Next time out
Minot State returns to action Saturday, Dec. 4 on the road in Moorhead, MN., against the Dragons of Minnesota State University Moorhead at 1:30 p.m.
