MINOT, ND — Minot State is set to host local community college, Dakota College at Bottineau, this Wednesday in the Maysa Arena. While MSU competes in the ACHA Division I, DCB—also a member of the NJCAA—competes in the ACHA Division II. The Beavers are No. 2 overall in the ACHA DI rankings while the Lumberjacks are No. 2 in the west division rankings, ranked 54th overall in their division.
The Beavers are riding a three-game win streak coming into this competition against the Lumberjacks with a record of 14-1-0-0.
Carter Barley,
Davis Sheldon, and
Jared Hamm have been paving the way for the Minot State offense so far this season, scoring thirty goals combined with ten a-piece.
Drew Carter and
Reece Henry have been keys to the Beavers scoring, Carter having 11 assists and Henry close behind with 10.
Jake Anthony and
Riley Wallace have been tag-teaming the stellar defensive performances in between the pipes, combining the two for a total of 94.1% of shots saved this season.
Dakota College at Bottineau is local to MSU with just 83 miles distancing the two teams. Ian Amsbaugh, Zane Macdonald, and Ryan Patterson are some key players to look out for as these three skaters alone have scored a combined 35 goals on opponents so far this season. The Lumberajcks' defense in the net hasn't been too hot this season, as only 91.7% of the shots on goal have been saved by goalies Matt Trulsen and Jordan Berschiminsky, along with two empty net instances for the DCB defense. The team currently has a one-game win streak with a record of 7-5-1 and a .500 winning percentage in all away games.
The Wednesday night competition between the Beavers and the Lumberjacks will be hosted by Minot State in the Maysa Arena. Puck drop is set for 7p.m.
