Minot State falls to MSU Denver 6-5 in 11 innings

DENVER, Colo. --The Minot State Beavers fell 6-5 in an 11-inning contest to the MSU Denver Roadrunners on Sunday.

Sophomore Craig Schmich (0-1) took the loss on the mound for Minot State (2-1 overall). Senior RJ Martinez started the ballgame and went five shutout innings while allowing three hits, walking two and striking out seven.

At the plate, the Beavers were paced by senior Blake Gallagher, who went 3-for-6 on the day with a double and two RBIs. Freshman Dalin Ludlow compiled a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Sophomore Mark Ossanna also chipped in for Minot State, putting together three hits in six trips to the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beavers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the fifth inning. Minot State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run double off the bat of Gallagher and a two-run single from Ludlow.
