MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State Beavers fell 24-10 to the Winona State Warriors at home Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors improved to 1-0 on the year and 1-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, while the Beavers fell to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in conference matchups.
Ali Mohamed paced the MSU rushing attack by accumulating 78 yards over the course of the game. Peyton Lamoureux also added eight yards on the ground, averaging 4 yards per carry, as well as 37 receiving yards.
Nathan Young hauled in five catches for 57 yards.
Isaiah Bigby showed out for the Minot State defense, totaling 12 tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one interception. Multiple defensive Beavers had their hands all over the ball as five Beavers broke up Warrior passes had in the loss.
The Beavers won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing two turnovers while coughing the ball up one time, with Minot State turning those takeaways into eight points.
