Beavers get even with Bobcats, beat Ohio 4-2

MINOT, N.D. - One night after falling in an overtime thriller, the Minot State men's hockey team got a little revenge.

Four different players scored and Jake Anthony turned aside 17 shots as the 2nd-ranked Beavers beat No. 4 Ohio 4-2 on Saturday night at the Maysa Arena. Friday, Ohio rallied for a 2-1 win in overtime as the two teams split their weekend series.

Logan Rands put Minot State (4-1-1 overall, 3-1-0 MCH) on top 6 minutes, 25 seconds into the action and it stayed a 1-0 game until early in the second when Matt Egan netted his first collegiate goal with 5:10 gone in the period, giving Minot State a 2-0 lead.

Ohio (4-2-0) battled back with a last-second goal to end the second period, then tied it with 8:10 gone in the third.

Jay Buchholz quickly broke the tie for the Beavers, though, netting the game-winner 1:17 after the Bobcats final goal of the night.

Reece Henry iced the win with an empty-net goal with 1:10 to play for the Beavers, who next play at Mary next Saturday night.
