Beavers head to UMary to take on the Marauders in their second meeting of the season

MANDAN, N.D. - Minot State is hitting the road this weekend for Saturday's match-up. On October 26 the Beavers will be in Mandan, North Dakota to take on the University of Mary at 7:00 pm for their second match-up against the Marauders this season. The Beavers are currently ranked #3 in the latest ACHA poll and are 4-1-1 on the season. The University of Mary Marauders are currently 9-2-0 on the season. 

This Saturday will be the second meeting between the Beavers and the Marauders this season. Back on Wednesday, October 2, the Beavers went down to Mandan, North Dakota to take on the Marauders and came away with a 5-4 win. This history between these two teams dates back to December 3, 2021, and since then the Beavers have won 11 games against UMary, whereas the Marauders have only beaten the Beavers twice. The Beavers will be looking to make it 12 wins over the Marauders in team history on Saturday. 

Minot State is going into this game coming off of a weekend split against the Ohio University Bobcats. Last weekend was full of great hockey played by both the Beavers and the Bobcats. On Friday, October 18, the Bobcats took game one in overtime by a score of 2-1. Following Friday's game, the Beavers answered back by defeating the Bobcats in regulation by a score of 4-2. The Beavers will be looking to ride the momentum of Saturday's win over a strong Bobcats team when they take on the University of Mary on Saturday.

Colby Joseph is the leading forward in goals scored with 3 goals on the season, and Jay Buchholz is the leading forward in points scored with 2 goals and 3 assists on the season. Austin Clyne is the leading defensemen in points scored with 1 goal and 4 assists, and Logan Rands is the leading defensemen in goals scored with 2 goals on the season. Jake Anthony is leading the way in goal with a 3-1-1 record and a 0.902 save percentage. 

Following Saturday's game against the Marauders, the Beavers will be back in action on Wednesday, October 30, at the Maysa Arena at 7:00 pm. On Wednesday, October 30, the Beavers will be hosting the University of Mary for their third match-up against the Marauders on the season.
