JAMESTOWN, N.D. - The Minot State Beavers men's hockey team defeated #5 University of Jamestown in game one of a two-game series on Friday, December 6, in Jamestown, North Dakota. With the win, the Beavers are now 2-1-0 against Jamestown this season with game two coming up tomorrow, Saturday, December 7. Minot State has now improved their record to 15-2-2, while Jamestown falls to 15-3-0.
The Beavers scored the lone goal in the first period on a power play goal scored by
Joey Moffatt at 19:39 into the period. Minot State's goalie,
Jake Anthony, held the Jimmies scoreless in the first period tallying 9 saves on 9 shots on goal.
Minot State was in full control of the second period scoring two goals to increase their lead to 3-0. The first goal was scored 49 seconds into the period by
Reid Arnold. The second goal was scored at 1:24 into the period by
Austin Clyne.
Jake Anthony held the Jimmies scoreless once again tallying 11 saves on 11 shots on goal.
Jamestown opened up the third period scoring a goal at 1:09 into the period by Chase Visser to cut down the Beavers lead to 3-1. This would be the only goal the Jimmies would score as the Beavers would go on to win the game by a final score of 3-1.

Matt Egan were credited with assists in the game.
Jake Anthony led the way in goal for the Beavers tllying 31 saves on 32 shots on goal to improve his record to 8-2-1 on the season.
The Beavers will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, December 7, in game two against #5 University of Jamestown at 7:30 pm at the ND State Fairgrounds (All Seasons Arena) in Minot, North Dakota.
