MINOT, N.D. - The #1 ranked Minot State Beavers men's hockey team is headed to Albert Lea, Minnesota, to take on Waldorf in a two-game series. Game one is scheduled for Friday, January 17, at 7:30 pm, and game two is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, at 6:00 pm. The Beavers go into this series with a 23-2-3 record on the season, while Waldorf currently holds a record of 4-14-0.
Minot State is coming off of a two-game series at home against Iowa State University. In the series, the Beavers outscored their opponent 22-3, leading to a two-game series sweep. The Beavers shutout Iowa State in game one with a final score of 10-0, and were victorious in game 2 with a final score of 12-3. Minot State will be looking to stay hot offensively against Waldorf this weekend.
The upcoming two-game series against Waldorf is the second two-game series between these two teams this season. Back on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, the Beavers hosted Waldorf in a two-game series in which the Beavers swept their opponent. The Beavers defeated Waldorf in game one with a final score of 9-3, and were victorious in game two with a final score of 2-1. Historically, Minot State has had Waldorf's number as the Beavers are 7-0-0 against Waldorf over the years. The Beavers will be going for the season sweep over Waldorf when the two teams match-up on Friday and Saturday.
