MINOT, N.D. - The #1 ranked Minot State Beavers men's hockey team is set to compete in three games over a three-day span against in-state rivals #5 University of Jamestown and #12 University of Mary. On Friday, January 24, the Beavers are set to host the University of Jamestown at 7:30 pm at the ND State Fairgrounds (All Seasons Arena) in Minot, North Dakota. On Saturday, January 25, the Beavers begin a two-game series against the University of Mary at 7:00 pm on the road in Mandan, North Dakota. Game two of the two-game series is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, at 6:00 pm at home at the Maysa Arena. Minot State currently holds a record of 25-2-3, while the University of Jamestown has a record of 19-10-0, and the University of Mary has a record of 19-8-0.
The Beavers are coming off of an extremely successful road trip in Albert Lea, Minnesota, against Waldorf. In game one, the Beavers defeated Waldorf by a final score of 11-3, and in game two, the Beavers defeated Waldorf by a final score of 6-2 to sweep the two-game series. Over their last 4 games, Minot State has outscored their opponents 39-8. The Beavers will be looking to continue their incredible offensive production this weekend against Jamestown and Mary.
This weekend's match-ups against Jamestown and Mary will be the fifth meeting between the Beavers and Jamestown, and the fifth and sixth meeting between the Beavers and Mary. Throughout the season, the Beavers have found success against Jamestown with a 3-1-0 record against the Jimmies this season. The last match-up between these two teams was back on Saturday, December 7, when Minot State defeated the Jimmies by a final score of 4-2. Similarly, the Beavers have also found plenty of success against Mary this season with a 4-0-0 record against the Marauders thus far. The last match-up between these two teams was back on Wednesday, January 8, when Minot State defeated Mary by a final score of 6-2. The Beavers will be looking to continue this success against their in-state rivals this weekend.
