#1 Beavers hit the road to take on in-state rival #5 University of Jamestown

MINOT, N.D. - The #1 ranked Minot State Beavers men's hockey team is headed to Jamestown, North Dakota to take on in-state rival #5 University of Jamestown on Friday, January 31, at 7:00 pm. The Beavers currently hold a record of 28-2-3, while the University of Jamestown holds a record of 19-11-0. 

Minot State is coming off of an incredibly successful weekend where they went 3-0-0 when taking on the University of Jamestown for one game, followed by taking on the University of Mary for a two-game series. On Friday, January 24, the Beavers defeated Jamestown 4-3 when they scored 4 goals in the third period to secure the comeback victory. On Saturday, January 25, the Beavers defeated Mary 6-1 in Mandan, North Dakota. On Sunday, January 26, the Beavers defeated Mary 6-2 at home at the Maysa Arena. On the weekend, the Beavers outscored their opponents 16-6. 

Friday's match-up against the University of Jamestown is the sixth and final regular season match-up between the Beavers and the Jimmies. The most recent match-up between the Beavers and the Jimmies resulted in a 4-3 Beaver win on Friday, January 24. Minot State is currently 4-1-0 against Jamestown this season, and will be looking to secure their fifth win over the Jimmies on Friday. 

Players to watch:

Joey Moffatt is the leading Beaver forward in both points and goals scored with 37 points and 22 goals on the season. Logan Rands is the leading Beaver defensemen in both points and goals scored with 29 points and 14 goals on the season. Jake Anthony and William Dyke continue to be an impressive tandem in goal this season for the Beavers. Jake Anthony currently holds a 14-2-2 record with a 0.924 save percentage, and William Dyke currently holds a 11-0-1 record with a 0.935 save percentage.

Following Friday's match-up against #5 University of Jamestown, the Beavers will be back in action at home in a two-game series against Maryville University. Game one is scheduled for Friday, February 7, at 7:30 pm, and game two is scheduled for Saturday, February 8, at 7:30 pm. For game one, the Beavers will be hosting Agriculture Night sponsored by Farmers Choice Seed, and for game two, the Beavers will be celebrating Senior Night.
