MINOT, N.D. – Minot State senior offensive lineman and two-time NCAA All-American wrestler Jake Swirple is getting his shot to compete at the next level.

Swirple heard his named called during the International Football Alliance's inaugural 2025 Draft on Saturday by the Alabama Beavers and will be heading to Huntsville, Alabama to join the Beavers as the IFA kicks off its inaugural season in May.

The 6-team professional league will play an eight-game season with the Alabama Beavers hosting the Tampa Bay Tornadoes on May 31 in week 1. The season concludes July 26.

Other teams include the Dallas Pioneros and San Antonio Caballeros, both in Texas, the Chihuahua Rebelion in Mexico, and the Ohio Valley Ironmen in West Virgina.

And the new league also has a seventh team already scheduled to begin play in 2026, the Arkansas Storm.
