MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State baseball team started off strong in both games of an NSIC doubleheader Friday night at Corbett Field, but couldn't fend off the visiting Augustana Vikings who rallied for 12-4 and 15-4 wins to sweep the twinbill.
The Beavers (17-31 overall, 11-28 NSIC) host the Vikings again Saturday in a single game at 1 p.m. The contest is the season finale for Minot State.
GAME 1 | Augustana (SD) 12, Minot State 4
MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State Beavers couldn't slow down the Augustana Vikings, falling by a final score of 12-4 on Friday.
Junior Anthony Disantis (2-4) got the ball to start for Minot State and took the loss. Freshman Wyatt Toth was a bright spot for the Beavers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing no hits, with one walk and one strikeout.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by junior Oscar Pegg, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and two RBI. Senior Seungjun Song put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-3 with a double. Junior Jake Orthner also chipped in for Minot State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

The Beavers were trailing 2-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Minot State scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Pegg.

Senior Gage Eastlick (0-2) got the ball to start for Minot State and took the loss.
In addition to his three hits, Madas had a home run and two RBI to lead the Beavers. Senior Grant Gabbert put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Freshman Wyatt Toth also helped out for Minot State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.

The Beavers were unable to get any closer, as Augustana added six runs to their tally on the way to a 15-4 final.
