Minot State Football Looks to Get Back to .500 on Sunday

(MINOT, N.D.) -- Minot State University football is on the road this weekend, taking on Winona State University.
 
The Beavers have an opportunity to get back to the .500 mark with a win as they are currently 2-3 overall and in NSIC play. Minot State fell in a heartbreaker on homecoming last weekend as they fell due to a late touchdown scored by Southwest Minnesota State University.
 
Minot State and Winona State will kick-off Sunday, Oct. 13, at 12 p.m. in Winona, Minn.

  • In its brief history, Winona State leads the series 3-0.
  • The Warriors won the first matchup in 2013 by a score of 49-14.

  • Tamrick Ross is tied for the lead in tackles for loss with 3.5 and also has 2.5 sacks.
  • The Beaver defense has also picked off six passes this season.
  • As a team, Minot State is one of the more disciplined teams in the conference with only 26 penalties on the season (best in the NSIC) and roughly 42.6 penalty yards per game.

  • Winona State University is coming off of a tightly contested 28-26 win over MSU Morehead.
