BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. –
Jace Carlisle delivered a historic round on Friday to lead the Minot State men's golf team during Day 2 of the NSIC Men's Golf Championship at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
Carlisle carded a brilliant 7-under 65, jumping 22 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 4th place with a two-day total of even-par 144. His performance not only paced the Beavers for the day, but also set a new NSIC Championship record for lowest individual 18-hole score.
Minot State finished the day in 5th place overall with a team total of 22-over 598 heading into Saturday's final round.
Winston Grayson continued his strong play, firing a 1-over 73 to move into 8th place at 2-over 146 for the tournament.
Chase Gedak and Darian Herlick each shot 5-over 77 on Day 2, sitting in 36th and 38th place, respectively.
Zach Hendrickson rounded out the team scores with a 10-over 82, placing him 35th overall with a two-day total of 12-over 156.
Concordia-St. Paul took over the team lead with a two-round total of 7-over 583, while Logan Schoepp of Bemidji State remains the individual leader at 5-under 139 after a second-round 1-under 71.
The Beavers will look to finish strong Saturday in the final round of the 54-hole championship event.
