THIS WEEK: Minot State finishes off its home schedule for 2017 with six straight games at Corbett Field starting with St. Cloud State in a midweek clash on Wednesday. The game times have been pushed back a little due to cold temperatures in the morning with the double header scheduled for 1:30/4 p.m. MSU finishes off a six-game homestand with rival University of Mary Saturday and Sunday at Corbett with both days scheduled for 12/2:30 p.m.
RECORDS: The Beavers are currently fifth in the Northern Sun with a 17-13 conference record and are 22-16 overall. SCSU is third overall in the NSIC with a 23-9 conference record. The Huskies are 32-12 overall. U-Mary is last in the NSIC with a 5-27 record and is 9-32 overall.
COACHES CORNER:
Scott Eul is in his first season as head coach of the baseball program at Minot State and is 22-16 in his young career. Eul joins MSU after spending the past two seasons helping build St. Cloud State into a national powerhouse. SCSU's head coach is Pat Dolen who began his career with the Huskies in 2007 and is 398-133-1 overall. UM is coached by Joel Barta who is 67-211-1 in six seasons with the Marauders.

RANKINGS: None of the three teams are ranked in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association Division II National poll. St. Cloud State is ranked fourth in the NCBWA Division II Central Region poll.
RECENT HISTORY: Minot State went 2-4 during a six-game road trip to Bemidji State at Minnesota Duluth. The Beavers topped BSU in game 1 of a midweek double header and fell three of four times at UMD. SCSU

LAST TIME OUT: Minot State split four games with then No. 3 ranked SCSU to end last season, the first nationally ranked wins for the Beavers since joining DII.

Wyatt Moore each picked up wins in the series. The Beavers also topped UM in two midweek games with
Kendal Daniels earning his first win of the season in a 9-7 win. Moore picked up a save in game 2 against the Marauders.
NOTING THE HUSKIES: St. Cloud State will face former assistant coach
Scott Eul this weekend as Eul was an assistant coach the past two seasons before joining the Beavers in the offseason… Matthew Meyer is hitting .360 in 161 at bats, second on the team with 39 RBIs and 11 doubles… Cal Giese and Dominic Austing are a combined 13-4 on the season with Giese sporting a solid 1.48 ERA… Also coming into the week with a 1.48 ERA is receiver Miles Nablo, who has appeared in 19 games going 3-1 with three saves.
NOTING THE MARAUDERS: The University of Mary has dropped seven straight games in NSIC play entering the week… Andrew Beyer is the only Marauder regular who is batting above .300, coming into the week wit ha .326 batting average and 17 RBI… Travis Stevens is hitting .319 in 27 games… Nicholas Stobbe and Jake Johnson have combined for a 5-9 record, winning five of the team's nine total games.
RECORD SETTING WEEKEND: MSU sophomore
Michael Borst broke teammate
Celestino Rodriguez's single-season RBI record over the weekend to get to 53 on the year. Borst leads the NSIC in the category. He has 81 total RBIs in less than two full seasons with the Beavers.
CHASING HISTORY: Minot State comes into the second-to-the-last weekend sitting in fifth place overall in league play. The Beavers need to stay in the top eight to make the playoffs for the first time since joining the NSIC. Minot State has a four-game lead over both Sioux Falls and Winona State who are currently tied for ninth. MSU's magic number is down to six games to clinch a spot in the tournament.
